I feel a massive rant coming on!
Firstly - I discovered that 'Tories' originated in England (of course) but they were the group that wanted the return of Catholicism to England. The 'Whigs' were those who were against it.
Secondly - I AM SICK TO DEATH of people claiming to be 'Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish' etc etc etc who seem to think that a compassionate government is the sole domain of 'socialism or the greens' FFS ... compassion should be at the core of everything we do as human beings.
So many people claiming to follow G-d or Jesus (or both) and I've never seen such heartless self interest manifest so openly in my lifetime.
Yes ABBOTT is a true Torie - a Catholic Englishman, and probably a second son, sent to rape and pillage the colonies and make a fortune from them.
I've read the Torah, the Bible and even the Koran!

He didn't lock the prostitutes in gaol and tell them they were sluts. He knew the desperation required for a woman to sell her body, money! FFS.

BE VERY CAREFUL those of you who sit up on high in judgment of your fellow Australians who are less fortunate, once the less fortunate are gone from your perfect world the powers that be will look for the new less fortunate to bully and destroy and make money from ... THAT JUST MIGHT BE YOU.
Just like the saying goes ' a team is only as strong as it's weakest member' ... so too is a 'country only as strong as its weakest citizens' - what's your solution - shoot the weak - or help them become strong?
GROW a heart and stop thinking in lazy generalisations and judging people whose path you've no idea of.
YES we need to turn our economy around and reduce our debt - BUT at what expense - is killing/starving the less fortunate in our country the way? Or is it just a legal form of genocide?
YES - I AM MIGHTY ANGRY - and reckon Jesus would be expressing similar views - but the tragedy there is of course as always - who interpreted his views and wrote them down then turned them into something to build power and wealth for other people ... never Jesus' intention at all.
